RADARSAT Constellation Mission to launch

Jun 10, 2019

At around 07:17 PT on Wednesday, 12 June 2019, the RADARSAT Constellation Mission (RCM) – Canada’s next generation of Earth observation satellites – will be launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle.
RCM was designed and built in Canada by MDA at facilities in Richmond (British Columbia), Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue (Quebec), and Dartmouth (Nova Scotia). Magellan Aerospace in Winnipeg (Manitoba) was also involved in the production of RADASAT.
Consisting of three Earth observation satellites capable of scanning Earth at day and night and in any weather conditions, RCM allows for daily revisits of Canada’s surface and maritime approaches, as well as daily access to 90% of the world's surface and the Arctic up to four times a day.
